Second graders at Fulmar Road Elementary School recently explored the art of color blending while creating colorful pumpkin paintings with art teacher Melissa Lindsay.
Lindsay demonstrated how to blend red, orange and yellow paint to create different shades and transitions of color. Using an overhead projector, she showed students how the colors could work together to bring their pumpkin designs to life.
“It looks so vibrant!” student Andrew M. exclaimed as he watched his teacher’s demonstration.
Students put the technique into practice, painting their pumpkin artwork with blended colors. The art project gave young artists an opportunity to experiment with color, explore different artistic techniques and see how small details can make a big impact.
