Austin Road kindergartners recently welcomed special guests to campus for Donuts with Grown-Ups, a celebration that gave students an opportunity to reflect on their first year of elementary school with the people who matter most to them.
Held on the kindergarten playground, the event invited students to share donuts and conversation with one or two special grown-ups, which could be parents, grandparents, relatives or other important adults in their lives. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for students to showcase their accomplishments and revisit memories from throughout the school year.
A highlight of the event was a personalized photo book created by each student. Throughout the project, students selected 10 favorite photographs from the year and wrote brief sentences describing each one. As they flipped through the pages together, students proudly shared stories, memories and milestones with their guests.
The celebration offered a fitting end to a memorable kindergarten year, allowing students to reflect on how much they have grown while creating one more special memory before summer begins.
