Lakeview Elementary School kindergartner Liam Lopez was one of the winners of a community naming contest for a newborn calf at Tilly Foster Farm located in Brewster, New York.
The adorable Holstein/Scottish Highland heifer was born Feb. 11, and local elementary school students were invited to submit name ideas for the calf. Liam’s submission, Oreo, was selected as the winning name, and the official unveiling took place May 13 at the farm with his class in attendance.
“Our class had the opportunity to tour the farm, pet the animals and meet Oreo, the adorable baby calf,” kindergarten teacher Shannon O’Shea said. “The students had an amazing time and it truly was a core memory and such a special experience for our class to be part of.”
