Welcome Elizabeth Lee

The Mahopac Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Lee as the new assistant principal of Austin Road Elementary School.

Lee brings 18 years of experience in education, along with a strong background in instructional leadership and student support. A longtime Mahopac resident, she has served as both a teacher and administrative designee in the Mount Vernon City School District, where she played a key role in professional development, behavior support systems, and schoolwide leadership initiatives.

“We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth Lee to the leadership team at Austin Road Elementary School,” Superintendent of Schools Christine Tona said. “Her extensive experience in elementary education, combined with her deep roots in our community, make her exceptionally well-suited for this role. We are confident that her leadership will positively impact students, staff, and families for many years to come.”

In her most recent role, Lee supported daily school operations, led professional learning communities, mentored new teachers, and worked with parents and the PTA to enhance school-community partnerships. She also served as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports coach, led the Multi-Tiered System of Supports Committee and helped design and implement data-driven instructional practices.

“As a Mahopac resident and lifelong educator, I’m deeply committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing, and high-achieving environment for all students,” Lee said. “I look forward to partnering with staff, students, and families to support every child’s success.”

Lee holds certifications in school building leadership, early childhood education, childhood education (grades 1–6), and students with disabilities. She earned degrees from SUNY Cortland, Touro College and Mercy College.
