The Mahopac Central School District has completed a tennis court resurfacing project at Mahopac High School with a goal to enhance safety and extend the courts’ lifespan. A recent facilities review determined the courts had reached the end of their usable life and posed potential hazards.
“Student and community safety is our top priority,” Interim Superintendent Frank Miele said. “The old courts served our school and community well, but the wear and tear had reached a point where they could no longer be safely used. This project will ensure our varsity athletes, physical education students and community members can continue enjoying the courts.”
Due to significant cracks and surface deterioration that could not be resolved with minor repairs, the district’s facilities, athletic and safety teams recommended a resurfacing. The upgraded facilities will benefit both the district’s athletic programs and the community members who enjoy the space for recreational play.
