Fulmar Road Students Enjoy ‘Stone Soup…and Other Stories’ Performance

Fulmar Road Elementary School students recently enjoyed a lively assembly featuring “Stone Soup…and Other Stories,” performed by Pushcart Players. The interactive play brought several folktales to life, each centered on characters facing challenges and working together to find solutions.

The performance introduced students to stories from cultures around the world, including Africa, Eastern Europe, India and the United States, while reinforcing the joy of reading and storytelling. Through music, movement and humor, the show encouraged participation and helped students explore themes of cooperation, problem-solving and cultural understanding.

Fulmar Road PTO Volunteer Serena Marks praised the Pushcart Players.

“The performance of ‘Stone Soup…and Other Stories’ was animated and engaging,” Marks said. “It received outstanding reviews from the teachers and students.”

The assembly supported literacy instruction and provided meaningful connections for classroom discussion and follow-up activities, offering students an entertaining and enriching arts experience rooted in storytelling and multicultural learning.

The school extends its sincere thanks to Marks, the Fulmar Road PTO and Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES for supporting this special assembly and helping make the experience possible for students.
