Following a challenging winter storm, the Mahopac Central School District’s custodial, transportation, maintenance and grounds teams worked tirelessly to ensure that schools and facilities were safe, accessible and ready to welcome students and staff.
Under the leadership of newly appointed Director of Facilities Adam Rubin, teams arrived early, stayed late and worked through difficult conditions to plow parking lots, clear sidewalks and exits, address mechanical and vehicle challenges, and prepare buses and buildings for reopening.
In a message to his staff, Rubin expressed his appreciation for their commitment and professionalism.
“Cleaning up after a storm of that magnitude is no small feat,” Rubin wrote. “It is thanks to your tireless efforts and dedication to the safety of our students and staff, often while working long hours in freezing conditions, that we were able to open our buildings. Please know how much your hard work is appreciated by the entire Mahopac community.”
Superintendent of Schools Frank Miele echoed Rubin’s sentiments, praising both the facilities team and Rubin’s leadership.
“We are so fortunate to have Adam at the helm of such a dedicated staff, not only when it comes to snow removal but in all of the things they are responsible for day in and day out,” Miele said. “I truly feel that we have the best crew in all of New York State. The way they approach their jobs makes our district safe and a place where students have the opportunity to excel and be the best they can be.”
The collective effort demonstrated during the storm reflects the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Mahopac schools running smoothly every day. The district extends its sincere thanks to Rubin and the entire Facilities Department for their hard work, teamwork and unwavering commitment to the Mahopac community.
