Emergency Procedures

Bus Breakdown

  • Driver of stricken bus will inform Transportation Dept via radio
  • Another bus will be dispatched to the scene with a mechanic
  • Students will be transferred to the new bus
  • Bus driver will continue with the remaining bus route

Bus Accident

  • Driver of stricken bus will inform Transportation Dept via radio
  • Emergency services will be called to the scene
  • Transportation administration will go to the scene of the accident
  • Another bus will be dispatched to the scene with a mechanic
  • Students will be evaluated by on site emergency services staff
  • Those students requiring further assistance will be sent to local hospitals for further evaluation
  • The remaining students will be returned to the closest school to be evaluated by the school nurse.
  • Parents will be called and informed of the situation and the status and location of their child
